An 11 year old, girl walking to her bus stop, the last thing she touched was a pinecone. Next thing she knows she's in the back of a car and unable to move. Jaycee Dugard's book, A Stolen Life, is about her life as an abducted child. Dugard writes about the dark, mind-curdling events that happen to her within the 18 years of her being an abductee. I am very curious how such an amazing book came out of somebody who only has the education of an 11 year old. The way she writes about Nancy and Phillip as monsters with big hearts is amazing. Even though throughout the book she wonders about her family and whats going to happen to her later on.
Later in the book, she does have two daughters at a young age. In the book she does not reveal their names, or much about them. Dugard also talked about how she was a bit envious of the kids because they get to have high school years, while she did not. Anyways, the book was a very dark way of telling about what could happen to you in the case of being abducted. On average there is a child abducted every forty seconds, which translates to two-thousand kids per day, which means around eight-hundred-thousand per year. The book is also stating how you could prevent it. Walk your children to the bus stop, kids have a parent with you or even a cell phone.
